Lazy Sunday Morning

Well, we were supposed to get an extra hours sleep, however Amaya didn't think so. At 6.30am she was wide awake and wanted food. So after we gave her some food, I decided that Amaya should go back to bed so that we could get the extra hour. Well, not in her bed as she decided, she wanted to sleep in Mummy's bed. So we did.

Then we got up and had some rice cereal with mashed pear and banana. Yum!

A Day at the Kite Festival

Today we travelled to Semaphore Beach to visit the Kite Festival that they had there this weekend. Nanna & Grandpa (Mark's Mum & Dad) met us there and we had fish and chips at the beach and then went to look at all the kites - it was fantastic, there was an octopus, a shark, a mermaid, a twisting one, a soccer player with a soccer ball, a big scary looking fish, plus others. It was pretty windy but we had fun, here are some pictures.

cheers everyone

Look at my new hat!

Yesterday on "My day with May", we went to Marion. She had her injections at the beginning of the day, so i thought that we should get a present for being so brave. But infact she wasn't fased about having two needles injected into her leg and was happy all day. She even went to bed after falling asleep drinking her bottle at 6.45PM!!

The Grant Clan

Here is a generational photo. Four generations of Grants in the ONE room!!

My other Nanna and Grandpa

Well, I thought that we would do a whole tribute to the grands, or olds, as we would refer to them!! Here is a picture of Amaya and her "teddy" Nanna (a few weeks ago), and Amaya with "Toot Toot Pop" or Grandpa, as Kev would like it, on Christmas Day '06.

Every Tuesday Amaya goes to visit her Nanna and Grandpa and every Tuesday Amaya tells them all about her week. "Naa naa naa naa". All whilst drinking her milk, she's very clever. Well, tomorrow is Tuesday, so Amaya will wake up and get very excited to be visiting her "teddy Nanna" and "toot toot Pop".

Me and My Nan

Here is Amaya with her Nanna. We call Mum "Crazy Nanna" because when Amaya gets with her Nan they both go CRAZY!

Me and My Pop!

Here is Amaya and her Pop. They love each other lots and they hang out together and play with her toys. She has started to sit up, not on her own, but almost. She smiles lots and even laughs sometimes!! Her laugh is great, if we can catch it, we will blog it!
Pop has flown back to Perth tonight, Amaya can keep in contact with him through Skype. Although shes not very good at interacting with the screen, she can still be entertaining.
And no, that is not ginger hair!!! Its the light!

Well, what a week! It has been an incredibly busy week. Starting with our fanastic lunch on Monday, to the week ending with Mark and I both stuck with heads in books, or school work. I had to work an extra day this week which will be great to help with the bills, but- my goodness- we are soooo stuffed.

Today we went to Chrissy Whitelaw and Adam Bell's engagement party and Amaya loved being centre of attention (sorry Chrissy).

The photos are of us when we got home. Tired but happy.

12 March 2007

Hi, its a public holiday today so we are expecting some friends to come over for lunch. YAY!! Its not very often that we get to catch up with our good friends Nicole and Michael, and today we are!! Yay. (Kate and Suze are coming too, but we see them ALL of the time!!!- We love it!)

Before they come we have lots of tidying to do. But just wanted to put a photo of Mark and I getting ready for our first big night on the town since before Amaya!!

Well, later that Saturday we headed off to Aldinga beach. This is the coolest beach because you can drive on it. Amaya loved getting her feet wet and thought that it was a bit strange to see her feet disappear in teh wet sand. She wasn't too sure of the waves as I think she likes to make her own waves in the bath. After a fun time in the water it was time to get a little shut eye, so along with Nanna and Pop, Amaya had a little nap while we went for a walk along the beach.

Later on in the day, Amaya headed off with Nanna and Pop as Mark and I got ready to go to Suze's birthday. WE had an awesome time at the Adelaide Fringe and I even got my photo taken with Sunrise's comedian Fiona O'Loughlin. (She was a little happy on the happy juice!) Susan also got sang to by a crazy old lady!!! And almost kissed by a very strange man, who we egged on to kiss her, but to no avail!!

Keep in touch. Stay tuned for more exciting events in The Grant's Incredible Life!

10 March 2007

hello

It's Saturday morning and we're sitting outside under our verandah being attacked by killer flies - they suck!!! It's a beautiful morning and the first one in a long time where we don't have to rush to go anywhere or do anything - yay!

Hopefully today it won't be too hot and we can take Amaya to the beach with her Nan & Pop who are here from Perth and then later we are off to the Garden of Unearthly Delights (Adelaide Fringe) for a birthday party of our good friend Susan who is turning 30 we think... surprisingly she doesn't look a day over 24.

So this is our attempt to keep everyone up to date with us and all the funny things that Amaya seems to do everyday - she's pretty cute! That's if we can work out how to do the photo thing, let it be known that we are not technophobes it's just hard.

Blog ya crater
